What is WHOIS?
WHOIS is a protocol used to query databases that store registered domain name information. It returns details about who owns a domain, when it was registered, when it expires, and which nameservers it uses.
Why is the owner information hidden?
Many domain registrars offer WHOIS privacy protection (also called domain privacy or proxy registration). When enabled, the registrant's personal details are replaced with the registrar's contact information to protect the owner's privacy.
How do I find out when a domain expires?
